'Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord' Renewed For Season 2

The latest Star Wars series hasn’t even aired yet, but Lucasfilm is seemingly anticipating a hit as the studio has renewed Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord for a second season.

The series follows Darth Maul after the events of Order 66, as he builds his own criminal empire while a police detective, Brander Lawson, tracks him down. Read the synopsis below:

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord presents fans with a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.

Created by Lucasfilm President Dave Filoni, the greenlight of a second season here is an obvious one, as not only does Filoni love this character, but fans do too, with the character maintaining his popularity since his debut in 1999’s Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 2 joins Ahsoka Season 2 and Star Wars: Visions Presents — The Ninth Jedi as the only upcoming Star Wars series, as Lucasfilm attempts to transition the franchise back onto the big screen with June’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, and next year’s Star Wars: Starfighter.
