‘Secret Level’ Renewed For Season 2 At Prime Video
Congratulations, you’ve progressed to the next level! Secret Level is returning for a second season.
Prime Video’s largest debut for a new animated series, Secret Level, has been renewed for a season 2, following fifteen shorts that explored stories in various worlds that belonged to established video games.
It has been a week since the first season of Secret Level concluded, with Prime Video releasing the series in two batches, with the first eight episodes releasing on December 10 and the remaining seven episodes releasing on December 17. The show gained mixed reception from critics, while our own writer, Nick Williams, claimed it to be “one of the better video game adaptations” he had the pleasure of experiencing in our review of the show.
Secret Level is an anthology series that takes its inspiration from video games. It’s a fifteen-episode series with each episode taking place in a whole new video game ranging from games such as Sifu to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2. All episodes are produced by Blur Studio, while there are several animation studios (Axis Studios, Goodbye Kansas Studios, Illusorium, Platige Images, Unit Images, Blur Studio, and Digic Pictures) that animate the various episodes throughout. It’s very similar in style to Tim Miller’s previous show, Love, Death & Robots.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Secret Level is a new adult-animated anthology series featuring original stories set within the worlds of some of the world’s most beloved video games. From the creative minds behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, each of the 15 episodes is a celebration of games and gamers.
Secret Level Season 1 stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves, Kevin Hart, Temuera Morrison, Aleks Ye, and much more. The show is currently streaming on Prime Video, with all fifteen episodes available to watch.
