Ryan Gosling In Talks To Star In Shawn Levy ‘Star Wars’ Movie
Hollywood hotshot Ryan Gosling is set to possibly star in Shawn Levy’s upcoming Star Wars film.
Fresh off the production wrap of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first Star Wars film in seven years, production is heating up on another film, this time an untitled Star Wars project from director Shawn Levy. Read more about Ryan Gosling, Shawn Levy and Star Wars below.
This latest Star Wars film has been said to follow up on the Skywalker Saga, making it set after Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, but it is not directly connected to that saga. The film was in early development as of a few months ago, but now the movie is being fast tracked, and has already entered talks for its main star.
Ryan Gosling, an actor known for his eccentric but relatable roles in Barbie, Drive, La La Land, and The Fall Guy, has grown to become one of the most popular actors in the last decade. Now, he has entered talks to star in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars feature. As a result of this, Shawn Levy is fast tracking development at Lucasfilm, getting ready to begin production in September of this year.

There are currently no plot details available to audiences, but fan theories are running rampant, questioning whether the Jedi are involved with the story, or if the film will take a more adventurous approach like the recent Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Ryan Gosling will next appear in Project Hail Mary, a story directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. He will play Ryland Grace, an amnesiac astronaut who awakens mid-mission and finds that he is the sole survivor of the effort. That film is due out in theatres on March 20, 2026.
As for Shawn Levy, he is currently developing a boy band project starring collaborators Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, as well as producing the final series of Stranger Things, ahead of its release later this year.
