‘Reacher’ Season 3 Review: An Enjoyable Continuation
Reacher Season 3 delivers action, tension, and a cast that makes every moment count.
The third season of Reacher might lean on a familiar infiltration setup, but it never feels like a simple retread. Instead, the writers take that foundation and build something gripping, with storytelling that feels both genuine and engaging. Read our Reacher season 3 review below.
In this season, Reacher goes undercover with the DEA, and enters a vast criminal enterprise in order to rescue another informant whose time is running out. The season is adapting the seventh novel from the Jack Reacher series—Persuader.
One of the season’s biggest strengths is how well it immerses the audience in its world. There are plenty of moments that demand your full attention—scenes where you find yourself leaning in, eager to see what happens next.

That level of investment comes not just from the writing but also from the performances. The cast elevates the material, bringing nuance and intensity that make the stakes feel real.
Alan Ritchson delivers an impressive performance in every respect. His physicality, presence, and ability to bring depth to the character make him the driving force of the season. Even though he’s severely outnumbered in practically every scene, Reacher still manages to feel like the one who’s truly in control of the situations he finds himself in.
Susan Duffy, played by Sonya Cassidy, is a standout new addition to Reacher Season 3. Smart, capable, and undeniably badass, Duffy brings a no-nonsense attitude that immediately makes her presence felt. Unlike other characters who may tread cautiously around Reacher, she meets him head-on.
More than just a competent agent and a welcome addition to the universe, Duffy serves as the catalyst that pulls Reacher back into the world he once belonged to.

Brian Tee takes on the role of Quinn, adding an above-average presence to the antagonist side of things, with uncompelling motivations. Daniel David Stewart appears as Steven Elliot, while Roberto Montesinos plays Guillermo Villanueva.
Paulie, played by Olivier Richters, is a physical force unlike anything Reacher has seen before. Given that Reacher himself is already a towering, muscle-bound presence, it takes someone truly massive to make him look outsized—and Paulie does exactly that. Richters, known for his incredible physique, brings an almost comic-book-level intensity to the role, making Paulie feel like an unstoppable wall of muscle; and that’s all he is.
Visually, the cinematography is decent—not groundbreaking, but effective in setting the tone and enhancing key moments.
Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, makes a strong return in Reacher Season 3, bringing with her the same sharp instincts that made her a fan-favorite in previous seasons. Her return also provides continuity, anchoring the season with a familiar face amidst new allies and enemies. Sten is set to lead a Neagley spinoff series which was given a series order 4 months ago by Prime Video.
Action-wise, the show didn’t let me down. Fight-scenes, shootouts, high-speed chases, this has it all. Everything feels grounded, realistic, and impactful on the story, every single action sequence is earned. The show features several visually engaging locations, which really add to the feel of the ‘lone warrior’ vibe.

There are stretches where the pacing slows down, making the show feel like a drag at times. However, just when it seems to lull, it always finds a way to pull you back in, whether through tension, action, or well-placed character moments.
Perhaps most impressively, Reacher Season 3 is accessible even to newcomers. Even as someone with no background knowledge of the characters or the previous seasons, I never felt lost—the show does a great job of making this story feel self-contained while still rewarding longtime fans. I certainly think I’ll go watch the previous seasons now.
Fans of Reacher will undoubtedly love Season 3, as it delivers everything that has made the show a success. The action sequences remain as hard-hitting as ever, with plenty of brutal fights and strategic takedowns that showcase Reacher’s tactical mind as much as his strength.

The cast of Reacher Season 3 is led by Alan Ritchson, who once again brings an imposing yet charismatic presence to the role of Jack Reacher. Maria Sten returns as Frances Neagley. Anthony Michael Hall plays Zachary Beck, with Johnny Berchtold portraying Richard Beck.
Reacher Season 3 delivers action, tension, and a cast that makes every moment count. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, the show ensures there’s never a dull moment. The new season premieres on Prime Video on February 20, with new episodes dropping weekly.
