‘One Piece’ Season 2 Introducing Tony Tony Chopper
We have our first look at the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper, who will debut in One Piece Season 2.
The live-action One Piece quickly became a fan favorite, becoming one of the most watched Netflix shows in the second half of 2023. Two weeks after the series’ release, a second season was greenlit and filming began a few months later in June 2024.
The following months after Season 2 was greenlit, we received various casting announcements via blog posts and even Netflix’s 2024 Geeked Week. That trend continues with this year’s Netflix TUDUM where we’ve received our first look at fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper which you can view below:
What Happens In The One Piece Season 2 Reveal?
The teaser opens with Chopper hiding behind a post, Iñaki Godoy’s Monkey D. Luffy telling Chopper that he’s hiding the wrong way. He comes out of hiding and says hi to TUDUM, introducing himself and apologizing for not being there in person. Chopper is ready to talk about One Piece Season 2 before falling down a flight of stairs, he calls out for a doctor but then remembers that he is a doctor. Luffy gives Chopper some encouragement and he reveals that Season 2 is coming in 2026 introducing new characters. Luffy congratulates Chopper, the audience cheers and he feels embarrassed calling them jerks. He smiles before running off screen and ending the teaser.
The description of the teaser reveals that Chopper will be voiced by Mikaela Hoover who also does the facial capture for him. Tony Tony Chopper, also known as simply Chopper, was created by Eiichiro Oda and was first introduced in the 134th chapter of the One Piece manga. He’s the sixth member of the Straw Hat Pirates and serves as the crew’s doctor. Chopper is typically seen as the series’ mascot.
One Piece is developed by Matt Owen’s and Steven Maeda. The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji and more. Season 2 premieres on Netflix in 2026.
