Leaked ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Concept Art Showcases Potential Narrative
New Avengers: Doomsday concept art showcases new looks at Doctor Doom, The Young Avengers and a new Black Panther.
A selection of looks at upcoming and past Marvel Studios projects, including Ms Marvel, Loki, Avengers: Doomsday, She-Hulk, Echo, Secret Invasion and The Fantastic Four: The First Steps have been leaked online after the art profile of Mushk Rizvi was discovered by fans. A plethora of concept art leaked online showcases potential narratives for Avengers: Doomsday and some team-ups that we could see. This includes the first looks at a potential Doctor Doom design, Hulk team-ups that include visiting Hulk villages and mix-and-matching of some of the MCU’s most popular characters. It is worth noting that the concept art was taken from the ‘unreleased’ section of the ArtStation site, which is not accessible from the main page or by the public.
There are seven pieces of art that we believe to be from Doomsday, and from them we can theorise where the story may go.
Damson Idris As Black Panther T’Chanda In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Concept Art
The first piece of art includes what seems to be Damson Idris (Snowfall) painted as the Black Panther in a Wakanda that doesn’t look too familiar to ours. The suit of the Panther is gold and black, with no mask so that his face can be on display. He also bears a stronger resemblance to the comic version of the character, as he has a long cape that goes almost to his knees and is black with gold elements on the ends of it. Considering we have seen how Wakanda reacts to conflict coming from outer space and beyond, seeing how another Wakanda reacts to a universal threat would be interesting and create a comparison to Infinity War, especially if a big setpiece takes place there.
Idris tweeted about Black Panther only last month, responding to a post claiming he rejected the role with sarcasm implying that he wouldn’t turn down such an opportunity. Whilst people originally thought he might’ve just been claiming that statement as outlandish, this new perspective seems to show that he just couldn’t reject the role and that he will be playing a version of the character. As a description for the artwork, the character is named as T’Chanda – a Black Panther that fought in World War 2.
Robert Downey Jr’s Medieval Doom In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Concept Art
There are two showcases of Doctor Doom, one featuring him in his iconic green and grey outfit with full bulk and a grand green cape whilst sat in his throne and another of him in a smaller throne but larger room, that includes a gathering of familiar and random characters. To his side is Doctor Strange (in the likeness of Benedict Cumberbatch), who appears to be an evil-multiverse version that acts as a right-hand man to Doom, perhaps teaching him the ways of the mystic arts and allowing the movie to explore the more magical side of Doom that hasn’t been touched on in his previous big-screen appearances.
They are surrounded by a group of characters and whilst none of them look too familiar, a few people have speculated that a young-child stood close to Doom could be Franklin Richards, who was also confirmed to appear in The Fantastic Four: The First Steps thanks to leaked art for that movie. As well as this, a blonde-haired female holds someone in chains, and this Doom-assister seems to bare a resemblance to either Sue Storm or Yelena Belova, though it seems unlikely that Yelena would find herself amongst this group of characters and with Franklin and Doom there, it would make sense that Sue finds herself close to him and working for him, even allowing for a romantic subplot to be explored.
Another concept art shows Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk and Skaar all exploring a Hulk village, which features a number of variations on the giant green monster, though no difference in their colour. This could potentially lead to us seeing other iconic Hulk-related characters such as A-Bomb and perhaps even some interesting takes and characters that represent various stages of Hulk development, though it seems that it’s going to be kept simple for a quick exploration.
Many fans were wondering where the ending of She-Hulk would lead, with Skaar limiting Hulk to having to bring his son on his next adventure, but now it seems that they are using this to explore their roots and learn more about themselves from other Hulks and to indulge in the wisdom of multiversal Hulks. Of course, when mentioning a multiversal Hulk, fans will immediately begin to think of Maestro, the multiversal Hulk villain that takes over a variety of universes. Whilst this would probably be too much for a movie that already has Doctor Doom as its main villain, it’s interesting to consider the possibilities of where this could go.
Young Avengers In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Concept Art
Finally, the biggest piece of concept art is one that showcases an outcome that fans have been asking for for a long time. Surrounding a table in a bar, we see the assembly of the Young Avengers, which includes Ms Marvel (Iman Vellani), Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Speed, Wiccan (Joe Locke) and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton). Ever since WandaVision introduced Billy and Tommy and the following MCU projects introduced younger hero characters that were known as the Young Avengers in the comics, fans have been waiting and speculating on when we could finally see them assemble and it wasn’t until The Marvels that we saw the beginning of this, with a post-credits scene that referenced Iron Man with Ms Marvel recruiting Kate Bishop and hinting at building a bigger, younger team.
At the head of the table, Wong (Benedict Wong) and Star Lord (Chris Pratt) chat with the group, probably recounting on a fight scene or event that just occurred. Wong has been spearheading the MCU since Phase Four and connecting all the newer characters to the wider MCU so it only makes sense that he is the one who mentors the younger characters and brings them to this huge fight since we need all the hands we can get, even if that’s very irresponsible.
Smaller pieces of art include Vision (Paul Bettany) and Star Lord sat on a couch, possibly from the end of the movie or where it picks up as it will be hard to find a moment of levity and peace in this chaotic event. As well as this, the iconic X-Men character Doop is also noticeable on the side of the Young Avenger’s table, implying that we will get to see a variety of mutants and X-Men characters in Doomsday and Secret Wars before they make their first MCU appearance, even ones that we haven’t yet seen in previous movies.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by The Russo Brothers and stars Robert Downey Jr, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon-Moss Bachrach, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, and many more. The film is due to release in theatres 2026.
