A new post from DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn teases a new character for Peacemaker season 2.
In a new post made to Meta’s post board Threads, James Gunn, director and producer who helms Warner Bros.’ DC Studios label alongside Peter Safran, posted a new look at the upcoming Max series.
The new look seems to be a still from the upcoming second season of Peacemaker, featuring a shirtless man with some feathered accessories sitting cross-legged at a campfire, at the edge of, or in the middle of some woods.
Many fans theorise the character to be Apache Chief, a Native American character who in the comics can grow to unfathomable sizes. He also has a sixth sense in some iterations. He was created by Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1977 for the Super Friends series and has since gone on to appear in several DC comics.

Others have theorised the character to be Snowflame or Catman, with the theories of the latter tying into the untitled Bane-Deathstroke led movie currently in production at DC Studios. Further, the character of Little Sure Shot may appear in Creature Commandos based on a still courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and with that character being of Native American descent, it very well could be him too!
While the overarching plot of Peacemaker season 2 still isn’t known, it can be inferred that this character and John Cena’s titular Christopher Smith will come into contact with each other. Other plot threads, such as the revenge arc of Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo), may also tie into the appearance of this mysterious character.
Peacemaker season 2 is now in production. It stars John Cena as the titular character, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Dee Bradley Baker as the voice of Eagly. Peacemaker season 2 is expected to be released in the second half of 2025.
