Himesh Patel To Play Eurylochus In Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey', New Looks Released

Following the release of the IMAX 70mm exclusive prologue, which gave audiences a first look at the Trojan War from the eyes of Sir Christopher Nolan, there are now new looks at The Odyssey, both shots from the film and behind-the-scenes looks, from Entertainment Weekly.

One of these images, a look at Odysseus (Matt Damon) flanked by Cepheus (Jimmy Gonzales) and Eurylochus (Himesh Patel), reveals that Himesh Patel will indeed be playing Eurylochus, the second-in-command of Odysseus.

In Homer’s The Odyssey, Eurylochus is one of the men captured alongside Odysseus by the Cyclops Polythemus and does manage to survive. He also sees Circe (Charlize Theron in the movie) turning Odysseus’ men into pigs and notifies him of this but tries to make Odysseus leave them to their fate, instilling the reader with a sense that Eurylochus is cowardly. He later persuades the crew to kill the cattle of Helios, angering the gods.

Entertainment Weekly also showcased some other images, including a new look at Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Telemachus (Tom Holland) together, a look at Antinous (Robert Pattinson), and a look at Christopher Nolan directing the film with an IMAX camera.

The Odyssey is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Himesh Patel.

The film hits theatres on July 17th, 2026.
