“Gorgeous” is the first single on Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s collab album, Missionary, which will be Snoop Dogg’s 20th album. He’s worked with Dr. Dre a lot over the years—The Chronic (1992), Doggystyle (1993), and 2001 (1999) all heavily feature the two working together.

Missionary as a title is likely a homage to Doggystyle—both being the names of different sex positions.

This will be Dr. Dre’s first official collab album since 1991, when he was with the N.W.A. Since then, he’s become a massive piece of rap history—having his hands in every pot related to hip-hop over the years.

When teasing the album, Dr. Dre said, “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I’m not playing. The musicians I’m working with right now and some of the writers in the studio that are helping us. Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are going to really enjoy this.”.

Dr. Dre noted that this is the first time he’s actually produced an entire album for Snoop, despite their massive collaborative history. “Believe it or not. I’ve only produced one album with Snoop… We’ve done a lot of things in between and songs and performances and films and things of that nature, but this is my first time actually producing an entire album with him.”.

The album is set to have a bombastic feature list starting with Jhené Aiko. The album also features 50 Cent and Eminem on the same track together; Method Man, BJ the Chicago Kid, Jelly Roll, and more also feature.

Dr. Dre will likely produce every track, as he does produce Missionary. While he doesn’t rap in it, it seems the songs he features on he will rap on, so “Pressure” and “Now or Never” will likely feature some raps from Dre for fans of his rapping.

The album will be the first major release for Death Row Records in decades. Snoop Dogg bought the record in 2022, and has been working to bring it back strong. For those who don’t know Death Row Records was massive in the 1990s. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, MC Hammer, Michel’le, and Nate Dogg are all artists who have been with Death Row Records over the years.
