Previously announcing his retirement in 2017 after starring in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread, Daniel Day-Lewis decided to end his career on a high note after being nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for the film. Earlier this year Martin Scorsese, who had directed Day-Lewis in The Age of Innocence and Gangs of New York, had hinted to the actor returning after seven years of retirement, specifically for “one more film.” Martin quotes: “We did two films together and it’s one of the greatest experiences of my life… maybe there’s time for one more.”

Day-Lewis was also seen earlier this year exiting a meeting with Jim Sheridan and Steven Spielberg, both of who directed him in their films My Left Foot and Lincoln, so perhaps this means that Day-Lewis has been adamant about wanting to get back into acting.

Maybe it’s time for Daniel Day-Lewis to go back to giving us stellar performances. Today the actor was spotted on the set of the upcoming film titled Avelyn which stars Sean Bean. We can also see that he is donning a new look with facial hair and riding on a motorcycle with Sean behind him.

Is It Possible To See Him In More Than One Upcoming Role?

Following Martin Scorsese’s comments and spotting him on the upcoming film starring his friend, It’s possible we could see Daniel Day-Lewis starring in one of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming projects. Whether it would be his adaptation of Marilynne Robinson’s Home or we could even see him resume development on his The Life of Jesus film where we could see Daniel Day-Lewis as Jesus Christ.

It would fairly be a delight to see the actor on the big screen again, since he is always known for delivering outstanding performances and has won three Best Actor Academy Awards for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln respectively.
