The series was first announced on January 31st, 2023 in a video titled “Chapter 1 – Gods and Monsters” where James Gunn shared his vision for this new universe. In the video, Gunn explains how DC has been “disconnected” in film and television and how it is now his and Safran’s job to make sure the new DCU is connected in film, television, gaming and animation.
What is ‘Creature Commandos’ About?
The plot has been kept mostly under wraps except for merch available at SDCC which teased that Task Force M will have to kill a Princess. Earlier this year at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, James Gunn appeared in a video call to talk about Creature Commandos, where he revealed the series will pick up directly after the Peacemaker season one finale.
The official trailer revealed that series villain, Circe (Anya Chalotra) wants to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic (Maria Bakalova) so Task Force M is tasked with rescuing her. We will also touch on the origin story of each character as indicated by the creation of Dr. Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk) and The Bride (Indira Varma) among others.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Creature Commandos tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option.
What are the ‘Creature Commandos’ Episode Lengths?
Twitter/X user Cryptic4kQual has recently revealed the episode lengths for all seven episodes of Creature Commandos. Episode one is 23 minutes long. Episode two is 22 minutes long. Episode three is 21 minutes long. Episode four is 25 minutes long. Episode five is 22 minutes long. Episode six is 25 minutes long. Episode seven is 28 minutes long. This makes the series approximately 166 minutes or 2 hours and 46 minutes.
