‘Black Panther 3’ Moving Forward At Marvel Studios
Nate Moore, long standing Marvel Studios exec, has just revealed he is departing the studio, but will be working on Black Panther 3
With the departure of longtime studio executive Nate Moore, Black Panther 3 was confirmed to be in development at the studio.
Following the explosive reveal that Denzel Washington has been in talks for a role in the third Black Panther film earlier this year, it has been confirmed by Marvel heads Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito that Black Panther 3 is moving forward at the studio.
The confirmation comes with a farewell, with franchise producer and executive departing the company but remaining as a producer on the upcoming instalment. In a statement, Feige and D’Esposito spoke with industry outlet Deadline:
“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios, he has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”
In his response, Moore stated:
“Nearly everything I know about producing I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios, I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films. But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”
There is no official word on whether franchise helmer Ryan Coogler will return for the third instalment, but considering his close connection to the unique world, we at Feature First believe he will. That is, after the release of his next film Sinners, which stars Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan and Hawkeye alumnus Hailee Steinfeld.
It is unknown if Letitia Wright, the actress known for her portrayal as Shuri, will return following controversy ahead of the second instalment. Wright picked up the mantle of the Black Panther following the death of Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away in 2020 following a battle with colon cancer.
All we know for sure is that a third Black Panther movie is in development with legendary actor Denzel Washington attached to star. Up next for Marvel Studios is the third and final season of What If…?, the fourth Captain America film, subtitled Brave New World, and the first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
