Breaking out at this year’s Venice Film Festival, The Brutalist is shaping up to be one of the hottest releases of the year. From its buzzy cast to the long-winded American classic runtime, it’s not hard to see why this is making waves with critics and audiences alike. And now, following being acquired by A24 back in September, the film has released its first trailer which you can now view below.

In the trailer, we can see László Tóth (Adrien Brody) as he immigrates to America for the “American dream” post-Holocaust with his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones). We see the beginnings of an important relationship between Tóth and Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce) and get a general idea of the magnitude of the film.

A synopsis provided by A24 reads as follows:

“Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes. On his own in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost…”

In conjunction with the trailer release announcement, a poster was released by A24. You can view that poster below:
