‘Avengers: Doomsday’ X-Men Trailer Releases Online

On the week of December 16th, we learnt that Avengers: Doomsday would feature a total of four theatre exclusive trailers over the next four weeks. These would be attached to screenings of Avatar: Fire & Ash, the third film in the Avatar franchise, which was released worldwide on December 19th, 2026 (early screenings allowed the film to be viewed as earlier as December 17th or December 16th depending on timezones. 

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo better known as the “Russo Brothers” is part one of the conclusion of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. The film is expected to see teams such as The Avengers, The New Avengers, and The Fantastic Four team up to face off against the infamous Doctor Doom played by Robert Downey Jr., who was last seen as Tony Stark / Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame.

The first trailer, which was released online on December 23rd, focused on the return of Chris Evan’s Steve Rogers who was last seen in Avengers: Endgame back in 2019. The trailer showed him on the alternate 616 timeline where he seemingly married Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and they now have a child. Next up was a trailer focused on Thor, who prayed to his Father, asking him for strength to face an upcoming battle and asking for his safe return so he can be there for his daughter. After its theatrical run between December 30th to January 5th, the next Avengers: Doomsday has been released online focusing on Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto, and James Marsden’s Cyclops. What Happens In The Avengers: Doomsday Steve Rogers Trailer?

The trailer which lasts for 1 Minute and 8 Seconds opens in the X-Mansion, Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) begins with “Death comes… for us all. It’s all I know for sure.” We see the camera pan to a plaque on the ground which reads “Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters,” Charles continues “The question isn’t… are you prepared to die?” We see additional shots of the Mansion including a library and hallway, Charles is seen sitting at the end of that hallway. Charles then says “The question is: who would you be… when you close your eyes.” We see the wheels of Charles’ Wheelchair turn, we cut to a chessboard where one of the pieces is seen floating. Someone holds Charles’ hand, which he then holds onto tightly. The camera reveals that the person playing Chess with Charles is none other than Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto who smiles.

The screen fades to black and we cut to a scene where James Marsden’s Cyclops rips off his visor, he shouts and lets out a laser beam while kneeling on the ground. In the background we see a destroyed battlefield with two Sentinels roaming behind him. The screen fades to black, “The X-Men Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday” appears on screen, a glimpse of the Avengers: Doomsday logo is shown with the release date followed by a countdown clock for the December 18th, 2026 release. The date briefly changes to “1e: 11ber: 02020” before counting down from 11 Months, 11 Days and 15 Hours.

When Will The Other Avengers: Doomsday Trailers Premiere Online?

The Avengers: Doomsday trailers have all been released the Tuesday before the next one and Marvel is unlikely to change this. See a schedule of each trailer and their release date below:

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, James Marsden as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier / Professor X and many more. The film hits theatres on December 18th, 2026.
