Alejandro González Iñárritu’s next film will officially be titled Digger, despite reports saying it’d be titled Judy.
Previously thought to be titled Judy, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s next film will be officially titled Digger, per an announcement teaser that showcased approximately four seconds of footage from the film. You can watch the first teaser for the Alejandro González Iñárritu movie Digger below:
In the title announcement we see what seems to be Tom Cruise (who plays a character named Digger Rockwell), holding a shovel in a building and then out on what seems to be a pier at sunset, where he balances on the railing holding the shovel.
The film’s tagline describes the movie as a comedy of catastrophic proportions.

Also starring in the film are Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, Emma D’Arcy, Robert John Burke, Burn Gorman, Michael Stuhlbarg, and John Goodman. Their roles have yet to be disclosed but the film is reportedly set to follow the most powerful man in the world (Tom Cruise’s Digger Rockwell) who must prove to everyone that he is a savior before a disaster of his own making is unleashed.
The film is set to debut in theatres on October 2nd, 2026, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, a division of Warner Bros. Discovery. It’s possible that by the time this film releases, Warner Bros. will be purchased by Netflix, given that the deal goes through regulations fine.
