Episode Titles Breakdown
The Penguin Episode 1 is 67 minutes long and is titled “After Hours”. This title seems to be a double entendre, with many illegal activities taking place after hours, as well as it being the title of Martin Scorsese’s 1985 black comedy starring Griffin Dunne.
The Penguin Episode 2 is 56 minutes long and is titled “Inside Man”. This title may also serve as a double entendre, with an inside man referring to an agent infiltrating an enemy agency, or a snitch. It could also refer to Spike Lee’s 2006 film that starred Denzel Washington.
The Penguin Episode 3 is 59 minutes long and is titled “Bliss”.
The Penguin Episode 4 is 58 minutes long and is titled “Cent’Anni”. The title refers to the Italian toast phrase “Cent’Anni”. This makes sense due to the show’s mafia-inspired plot and aesthetic.
The Penguin is developed by Lauren LeFranc and stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb and Cristin Millioti as Sofia Falcone. The series is produced by DC Studios and will be streaming on HBO and Max starting September 19.
