Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and Manifest star Luna Blaise have joined the cast of Jurassic World 4.
Following some high-profile castings over the last few months, two new members have been cast for the film.
Our first new addition is Green Book and Moonlight star Mahershala Ali, who has been cast in the film. He is coming fresh off 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Leave The World Behind, and his upcoming projects include Blade and Wildwood.
Luna Blaise also joins the film, she’s known for her roles as Olive in Manifest and Nicole in Fresh Off The Boat. She is by far the smallest actor on the cast balancing out the star power seen elsewhere in the ensemble.
The two actors join Scarlet Johansson, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Jonathan Bailey. This news directly contradicts a previous report from insider Daniel Richtman where he stated three adults, three teenagers, and a villain were being cast for the film.
In other news, franchise alum Chris Pratt addresses a return to his role of Owen Grady in the new film, despite reports indicating Universal will not opt to have previous characters return in this new entry of the saga.
In a new interview with CBR, the actor also revealed Scarlett Johansson had not been in touch with him following her casting in the film:
“You know what, she didn’t, she hasn’t called, but, you know, ScarJo, I’m only one call away. I think Colin [Jost] has my number, feel free to reach out. Yeah, that’s exciting news. That’s real cool.”
He was further questioned about his willingness to return and he replied with the following:
“Hey, never say never. Maybe. Maybe I return. Maybe I don’t. You’ll just have to tune in to find out. I know I’ll be first in line, whether I’m in it or not.”
Jurassic World 4 stars Scarlet Johansson, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Jonathan Bailey. It is directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp.
