‘Lanterns’ New “Weeks Ahead” Trailer: A Big Mystery
Catch a sneak peek at what’s next for Hal Jordan and John Stewart in this new trailer for ‘Lanterns’.
Tonight was the official premiere of Lanterns on HBO and HBO Max with episode one titled, “Pilot.” This marks the third series (the second live-action one) in the James Gunn and Peter Safran led DC Universe (DCU) which officially began back in December 2024. Following the premiere, we have a new weeks ahead trailer for Lanterns which can be seen at the end of the episode or with the link below:
The trailer, which lasts for 2 minutes and 28 seconds, opens with footage from the premiere episode of the series, recapping the events that just transpired. We get a series of shots from the upcoming season getting into the Manhunter conspiracy and we see Laura Linney’s character, who is a Guardian of the Universe. Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) meets with John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) in a jail cell and says that he met Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) in a similar way. We see Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen) screaming for Hal as the two Lanterns explore a desolate landscape.
What Is Lanterns About?
Lanterns follows Green Lantern, Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and Green Lantern in training, John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) as they investigate a murder in an American hometown. They two also face their own conflict as John believes he’s ready to wear the ring despite Hal’s disapproval. Read the official synopsis below:
“The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.”
Lanterns is created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. The series stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, and more. The first episode is now available on HBO and HBO Max, episode two airs on Sunday, August 23rd at 6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET.
