‘X-Men’: Kit Connor Tapped To Play Cyclops In Marvel Film

X-Men casting is ramping up quickly. Just last week we got Samara Weaving confirmed to play Emma Frost and Jean Grey made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day played by Stranger Things star, Sadie Sink. Now we have a name from Deadline for Cyclops with Kit Connor cast in the role of Scott Summers in X-Men.

Connor is probably best known for his role in Netflix’s Heartstopper series where he played opposite another MCU star, Joe Locke. Kit Connor also recently appeared in the Alex Garland film Warfare.

Scott Summers aka Cyclops made his comic debut all the way back in the first X-Men issue in 1963. The character has had multiple live action appearances this century with James Marsden playing the character in four films including the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Other actors to portray the character are Tye Sheridan and Tim Pocock, the latter of which only appeared in a brief cameo.

Marvel Studios’ iteration of X-Men is expected to go into production some time next spring with Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*) in the director’s chair. The full casting reveal is also imminent, with many speculating that it will be officially unveiled at Disney’s big D23 panel next Friday.
