A week ago, it was revealed that Warner Bros. would be holding a worldwide event to kick off the latest leg of marketing for Dune: Part Three. Fans across the globe were able to attend a special Q&A and trailer launch event at participating IMAX theaters this morning, and now the trailer has been released officially online. You can watch the new trailer for Dune: Part Three below:

What Happens In The New Trailer For Dune: Part Three?

The trailer opens with Chani (Zendaya) seemingly confronting Paul (Timothée Chalamet) a short time after the ending of Dune: Part Two, which saw Paul betray Chani’s trust and make a political play for the throne; becoming Emperor of the Known Universe by marrying Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh).

A shot of Chani sitting among the dunes with two children playing in the sand alongside her is shown as her scarf is taken by the wind. This scene cuts to Paul pulling the scarf out of the sand.

We hear the now iconic Fremen chant over images of desecrated planets and crucified corpses on Arrakis. The Duncan Idaho clone, now named Hayt (Jason Momoa), claims that Paul is “way beyond redemption” after the widespread galactic crusade waged in his name. Hayt tells Paul that he was sent to deliver a peace proposal, the only catch is that it is meant to destroy him.

The trailer cuts to a beautiful sunset over the ocean of the planet of Enfeil, Fremen including Javier Bardem’s Stilgar are seen touching the waters. Shifting gears, we hear the face dancer Scytale (Robert Pattinson) laying out the villain plot of the film, regime change. Irulan detests the idea, claiming the saboteurs have signed their own death wishes.

The last leg of the trailer features both new footage intercut with images from the end of Dune: Part Two. We see Scytale crashing a thopter in the desert and Alia entering a cell covered in blood. Paul explains that he is at a point where his future sight cannot see ahead, and he holds a gun to a very robotic sounding Chani who asks him how it feels “to be human just like everyone else.”

Hayt jumps out of an ornithopter onto the back of a sandworm to engage in battle and we see a bright explosion go off. The trailer ends with a sandworm stopping right before Chani and Paul asking to be forgiven for all he has done.

Alongside the new trailer, a brand new poster was released. You can view it here:
