‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Cold War Spin-Off Filming In Prague, Under Title ‘Birdwatcher’
Wyatt Russell is currently filming scenes as Lee Shaw in Prague for his upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters spin-off, tentatively titled Birdwatcher.
Wyatt Russell has had himself a busy year already with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, Disclosure Day, and early promotion for Avengers: Doomsday, but now he is tackling a new madness, headlining his own series, which is now heading into production in Prague, Czech Republic.
The series was first reported by Nexus Point News, where it was revealed that Wyatt Russell’s take on the character Lee Shaw (who is played by his father Kurt Russell in an older incarnation) would receive his own show, set in the Cold War era. Due to the nature of the universe in which the show takes place in, it will of course follow the actions and consequences of the existence of Titans, such as Godzilla, Kong, and others.

Prague Reporter, a Prague based outlet, reports that the Cold War spin-off is in production in the city. It is currently filming under the working title “Birdwatcher”, which is what we will be referring to the series as from now on, due to no other title being rumoured. Birdwatcher may be a reference to Kurt Russell’s Shaw finding an emerging Rodan at the end of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, which is a bird like Titan that he views with binoculars.
Besides this upcoming spin-off, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has not been renewed for a third season, though the MonsterVerse will continue through Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, which will hit theatres early next year.
