Today we’ll discuss what’s revealed in the final development vlog ahead of Subnautica 2’s Early Access Launch on May 14th.
What Features Are Available in Subnautica 2 Early Access?

Starting things off, Anthony mentions a launch bigger than any Subnautica Early Access launch before including more biomes, creatures, leviathans, craftables and vehicles. The biomes are fully explorable and progression driven offering many hours of gameplay. There will be regular updates throughout the leadup to version 1.0 including hotfixes, balance updates and larger content updates that expand the world, storyline and progression.
Early Access is expected to last for at least 2 years which means the Subnautica 2 1.0 Update could launch in 2028 at the earliest.
Following those reveals, Anthony went on to cover the System Requirements which will be optimised as time goes on to allow more players to jump into the game.
Finally, Anthony reminded the viewers that Subnautica 2 will launch in Early Access on May 14th, and costs $29.99 USD (Regional Pricing is in effect so the cost will vary per region).
In this Dev Vlog we also saw snippets of gameplay including base building segments, biome exploration, some of the creatures and more.

Subnautica 2 is developed by Unknown Worlds. The game launches in Early Access for $29.99 USD on PC (Steam and Epic Games) and Xbox Series X|S on May 14th, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT.
