‘Insidious: Out of the Further’ Debuts Trailer, Poster At CinemaCon 2026
Insidious: Out of the Further releases its first trailer at CinemaCon 2026, showing first looks at its cast, story, and connections to the franchise.
Changing its title yet another time, Insidious: Out of the Further released its first trailer and poster during the Sony Pictures Entertainment panel at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Whilst fans anticipate Blumhouse’s slate update as part of the Universal Pictures panel later this week, Sony has obliged audiences with the first official looks at the sixth Insidious film and the sequel to 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door.
The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: “In Insidious: Out of the Further, Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in who discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe. When something evil comes after her, Gemma discovers an ability that changes everything: she doesn’t just enter The Further, she can bring what lives there back to the real world. Once the demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.”

The film will serve as a prequel to the last five Insidious films, which followed the Lambert family (led by a patriarch and matriarch played by Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne respectively) and their experiences with hauntings through the mystical world known as The Further. Lin Shaye will reprise her role as Elise Rainier for the film, making her THE franchise mainstay throughout the last 16 years. Watch the trailer below:
A poster for the film was also released by Sony Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, which you can view below.

Insidious: Out of the Further is directed by Jacob Chase, produced by James Wan for Atomic Monster, produced by franchise creator Leigh Whannell, and Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum. The film stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, and Lin Shaye. Releasing in theatres August 2026.
