‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Gets An Exciting New Test Screening Update

December is approaching fast, and with it the latest event in the MCU, Avengers: Doomsday. People are clamoring for news on this film as we get nearer and nearer to release, and a potentially exciting new tidbit has been dropped online this weekend.

According to Twitter/X user @AjepArts and confirmed by insider DanielRPK, Avengers: Doomsday had an internal test screening recently that went very good. This report was also confirmed by producer/writer/media personality, Robert Meyer Burnett, who elaborated even further by saying that the internal reaction to the film went “[Avengers:] Infinity War well.” This gives us a good idea of where the team is at in the production process, with a watchable cut already finished, as the movie gears up for additional photography and reshoots.

This week is also CinemaCon, and many fans are expecting for there to be a new look at Avengers: Doomsday there as well after months of silence since the taste we were given during the Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings back in December. While nothing is confirmed currently, it’s hard to imagine Marvel and Disney won’t take the opportunity to showcase what is likely to be their biggest film since 2019 to exhibitors and theater executives.

However, this doesn’t guarantee that the public will get to see this footage as stuff from CinemaCon mostly stays exclusive to the convention, and with tickets for The Mandalorian and Grogu reportedly going on sale this Friday, Disney may opt to push a new trailer out for that instead. Perhaps they will repeat their strategy from a few months ago and debut the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer exclusively in front of the new Star Wars film.

We have also heard a few small updates for the upcoming Avengers films. Sources tell us that, yes, mutants will appear in Secret Wars, but that Doomsday will serve as somewhat of a swan song for many Fox X-Men legacy characters, despite focusing mainly on Thor and Steve Rogers. This gives fans the chance to experience one last hurrah before Marvel moves on to their new X-Men cast and marking a permanent shift in the MCU.

Avengers: Doomsday stars an ensemble cast led by Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The film releases in theatres on December 18th, 2026.
