‘Wonder Man’ Now Streaming On Hulu
‘Wonder Man’ is now streaming on Hulu instead of exclusively being on Disney+.
Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man was released earlier this year in January exclusively on Disney+. The only way you could watch Wonder Man was with a Disney+ subscription, but now, as of today, you can watch it with a Hulu subscription instead.
Wonder Man is Marvel’s first show to release this year. It’s a Hollywood-based comedy show following a couple of actors who happen to have more than what meets the eye—one being Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery, who reprises his role from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi, and newcomer Simon Williams, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
The show comes from Andrew Guest (Community, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). It’s been hailed as very different from the usual marvel or even superhero show.
Here is the official synopsis for the show:
Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man.” These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.

Earlier today Marvel Studios announced that Wonder Man would now be available on Hulu, which is surprising considering how rare this is. Usually Disney+ shows stay on the platform, and despite Disney owning Hulu, they usually serve different types of shows so there’s not too much crossover, especially from the Marvel shows. The only other Marvel Studios show that’s been on Hulu close to its initial release has been Echo.
It seems that Disney is trying to expand the audience of Wonder Man, and Hulu’s large subscription base seems to be where they’re trying to do so. We don’t have any viewership numbers for the show so it’s hard to say whether this is a move made because of the lack of success or because of it.
It’s also unclear at this time if future shows such as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, or Vision Quest will make their way onto the platform.
Wonder Man features 8 episodes with half-hour episodes and a total runtime of about 3 hours and 45 minutes, so it’s a relatively quick watch.

Wonder Man is created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams / Wonder Man, Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak and more.
