‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Rerelease Shows Three New Exclusive ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Clips

As Avatar: The Way of Water releases in theatres following it’s smash hit of a 2022 release ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash coming to theatres, new clips for the threequel have been released with certain showings of the second film. We exclusively reported the rerelease footage back in September, so we now that the film has been rereleased we’ve broken down the three separate clips of James Cameron’s legendary third movie ahead of its release in December. Find the Avatar: The Way of Water rerelease footage description inside.

In the first clip, Col. Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), spared from drowning by his estranged son Spider (Jack Champion), hikes up the side of a mountain and enters an Ash Na’vi encampment. There, he is manhandled by several Na’vi who bring him to their leader, Varang (Oona Chaplin). She threatens him, and he shows force by having a member of his team snipe and kill an Ash Na’vi. Varang agrees to speak with him and she brings Quaritch inside a tent-like structure.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Clip: Jake and the Family Board the Windtraders’ Ship

In the second clip from Avatar: Fire and Ash, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and the family board the floating ship that the Windtraders fly on for presumably the first time. Jake speaks with Peylak (David Thewlis), the olo’eyktan of the clan, where we learn of a pre-discussed deal to transport Spider (Jack Champion) only.

Peylak, weary of looking like he’s picking a side in the war with the Na’vi vs humans, reluctantly agrees to transport the whole family after Jake promises to protect the airship from Ash clan raiders.

The rest of the clip showcases the majestic creatures that keep the ship in the air and the Windtraders working together as a pseudo Na’vi pirate crew.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Clip: The Ash Clan Attacks

The other clip from Avatar: Fire and Ash seemingly takes place not long after the last clip as the Windtraders are sailing through the flying mountains of Pandora. As the kids are in awe of the mountains Spider gets a warning message on his air mask. The moment serves as nice foreshadowing to the development of Spider being able to breathe Pandora air which was shown in a recent trailer.

Later in the clip, things turn south as the Ash clan start a raid on the airship shooting arrows with tips on fire. Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) prepares for battle and Jake tells Lo’ak (Britain Dalton) to protect his sisters Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) and Tuktirey (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss). We get to see how the Windtraders protect themselves from attackers with crossbows mounted on the airships. Lo’ak, in his rebellious nature, leaves to go on his own without his comms after they burn in the fire, leaving the rest of the Sully children alone.
