‘Pluribus’ Teaser: Happiness Is Contagious In New Vince Gilligan Series

Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for Pluribus, the new science fiction series from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

The series stars Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) and Karolina Wydra (True Blood) and will be premiering on November 7th. Details are scarce but it is said to be “mild science fiction” set in Albuquerque, and described as “a genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness”. The show has no connection with Gilligan and Seehorn’s previous work, set in “a whole different world” with “no crime and no methamphetamine.”

Apple TV+ has already confirmed a second season.

The first look was revealed during a live stream featuring the title “Happiness is Contagious” on the Apple TV+ Youtube channel counting down to 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET, when the teaser would premiere. You can watch the teaser below:

The teaser features a woman (neither Seehorn nor Wydra) in an empty office area, methodically licking the bottom of donuts from multiple boxes and placing them back in. A handwritten sign below states “Help yourself!” with a smiley face, a recurring motif in the show’s marketing so far, as is the phrase “Happiness is contagious.”

Along with the description of Seehorn’s character trying to save the world from happiness, it may indicate the world of Pluribus is threatened by a viral or parasitic force. It had also previously been compared to ‘E.T.’ and described as fun in its tone.

Pluribus is created by Vince Gilligan and stars Rhea Seehorn and Karolina Wydra. The series premieres on Apple TV+ on November 7th.
