‘Superman’ Ending Explained
Over the course of the movie, a message sent with Superman to Earth is recovered fully. Initially, Superman had been using the first half of the message, which was corrupted, as a piece of comfort media when he healed from his injuries during his stays at the Fortress of Solitude. When Luthor and The Engineer exposed the second half of the recording, which detailed Superman sent as an invader rather as a helper, he is forced to reckon with this newfound information.

By the end of the movie, Superman is recovering from his wounds following a battle with Luthor’s Ultraman. To do this, he’s retreated to the Fortress of Solitude, where his army of Superman Robots heals him. To soothe him, the robots play video footage of his parents, but now, he sees footage of Ma (Neva Howell) and Pa Kent (Pruitt Taylor Vince) and him growing up on the Kent farm throughout the 90s and early 2000s.
While Superman heals, he watches this footage and the song “Punkrocker (ft. Iggy Pop)” by the Teddybears plays, and a burst of energy is absorbed by Superman, leading into a white transition and into the credits.
How Many Post-Credit Scenes Does ‘Superman’ Have?
Superman has two post-credit scenes, the first in between the stylised credits and the normal credits, and the second at the end.
What Happens In The ‘Superman’ Post-Credit Scenes?

The first post-credit scene, occurring after the stylised credits, sees Krypto and Superman sitting on the moon, watching the Earth. Krypto places his head on Clark’s shoulder. It is more of a motion poster than a scene, lasting only for a few seconds.
The second post-credit scene sees Superman and Mr. Terrific in Metropolis, witnessing a now put-together city. A rift in dimensions tore the city apart and Terrific had put it back together. Superman and Mr. Terrific look at this wall, and Superman points out that Terrific did not place it together correctly, with the two sides of the building being off-centre. Terrific gets angry and kicks a rock and Superman apologizes for being an asshole.

Superman is written and directed by James Gunn and stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Pa Kent, and Neva Howell as Ma Kent. Read our full review of the film, where I described the movie as “a fantastic adaptation of the character but the definitive film for the character.”
