New ‘Superman’ Official Trailer: A Ray Of Hope
Today, the official trailer for Superman has been released giving fans hope and excitement for this new universe.
Superman is a reboot of the Superman film series and serves as the theatrical debut of the all new DC Universe (DCU) headed by DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gunn has been involved with the project since August 2022, a few months later in October became head of DC Studios and began work developing the new DC Universe. Gunn would be confirmed to write the film in December 2022 with the title Superman: Legacy revealed a month later. In March 2023 it was confirmed that Gunn was also set to direct the film and David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan were cast as Clark Kent / Superman and Lois Lane later that June.
When filming began in Svalbard, Norway the film was retitled to simply Superman to better reflect its nature of a new beginning. Filming continued at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with location filming around Georgia and Ohio until August 2024. On December 19th, 2024 we received the teaser trailer for Superman which revolved around showcasing Kal El’s life as Clark Kent and Superman. The teaser also gave us brief shots of the heroes Clark would meet along the way such as Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Metamorpho as well as the villains such as a Kaiju, a masked meta-human and the infamous Lex Luthor. We also focus on the impact Superman has on humanity such as him being a sign of hope as a child calls out to him as well as being seen as an enemy to the citizens of Metropolis.
Later on, during screenings of A Minecraft Movie (and later released online) fans were shown the opening minutes of the upcoming film which shows an injured Superman in the arctic calling to Krypto. After Krypto playfully fights with Clark, he then takes him to the Fortress of Solitude where the Krptonian robots heal him with the power of the sun. We also had a behind-the-scenes video which teased even more characters to expect in the film as well as gave the cast an opportunity to share what this film and the character means to them.
Today with a little under two months away before Superman hits theatres, we have the official trailer showcasing even more of the upcoming film. You can view the trailer below.
Additionally, we have a new poster depicting Clark Kent / Superman (David Corenswet) crossing his arms, the poster also uses the film’s tagline “Look Up”.
