Ahead of a very exciting second season launch, Ben Still has confirmed in an interview with Collider that they have already begun developing the third season. Stiller stated, in response to a question about how long the show will last:

“It should go as long as the story goes, and that’s something we have an idea of, and we’re working towards as we’re starting up our Season 3 work.”

The third season has also already been listed on the WGA’s directory.

Severance has quickly solidified itself as one of the most unique and compelling shows on television, earning widespread acclaim for its thought-provoking premise and exceptional execution. The series, created by Dan Erickson and directed in part by Ben Stiller, explores the chilling concept of severing employees’ memories between work and personal lives, raising profound questions about identity, autonomy, and the nature of corporate control. Its highly stylised, almost dystopian office environment is both eerily surreal and alarmingly relatable, reflecting real-world struggles with work-life balance, personal purpose, and societal pressures. The meticulous storytelling, coupled with an incredibly strong ensemble cast led by Adam Scott and including renowned actors such as Christopher Walken and John Turturro, has resonated deeply with audiences by tapping into universal feelings of disconnection and the desire for freedom and authenticity.
