The series was first pitched by Jon Watts as an Amblin Entertainment-styled, coming-of-age story. Watts and co-executive producer Christopher Ford began work on the series in early 2022, Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni later joined as additional executive producers later the same year. The series was officially announced at the Star Wars Celebration in May 2022 with Jude Law set to star in the series.
Filming for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew ran from September 2022 to January 2023 in Los Angeles. The child actors for the series were then introduced shortly after in April 2023.
What Is ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ About?
The series sees a group of students get lost in space, they eventually meet a mysterious Jedi, Jod Na Nawood who promises he’ll get them home.
The official synopsis is described as follows:
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

The first two episodes will drop on December 2nd. A new episode will be released every Tuesday until January 14th making for a total of 8 episodes. All episodes will be released at 6PM PT / 9PM ET. See the full episode release date schedule below:
