Released in 2018, Batman Ninja was a big step for DC Animation, a wild transition into a newfound territory— Foreign cinema. With that film being highly successful based on domestic physical sales alone, a sequel was announced back in May 2024.
Now, Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League, has received a second trailer following a teaser back in July. It was dropped as part of DC’s New York Comic Con celebrations. The teaser is action-packed and shows a variety of DC Comics characters. You can watch it for yourself down below:
A synopsis for the feature is yet to be provided to members of the press but the film will follow the Bat Family as they battle members of the Justice League turned into Yakuza assassins.
Returning as the voice of Batman in the Japanese dub is Koichi Yamadera, joined by Daisuke Ono as Nightwing, Akira Ishida as Red Hood, Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin, Yuki Kaji as Damian Wayne, Hōchū Ōtsuka as Alfred Pennyworth, Masaki Terasoma as Jim Gordon.
As villains, the voice cast consists of Wataru Takagi as The Joker, Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn, Nobuyuki Hiyama as Barry Allen / The Flash, Romi Park as Wonder Woman, Akio Otsuka as Aquaman and Ayane Sakura as Green Lantern Jessica Cruz. No voices for the English dub of the film have been announced.
Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League is directed by Junpei Mizusaki and Shinji Takagi, written by Kazuki Nakashima and composed by Yugo Kanno. The film is slated to release in 2025 on digital services courtesy of Warner Bros. Japan.
