‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2 At NYCC: Details & Trailer Description

Fans got their first look at the upcoming season as well as the return of the X-Men: The Animated Series crew signing on to this season.

Marvel has concluded their Television and Animation at the 2025 New York Comic Con, Brad Winderbaum was present to announce new details on the second season of X-Men ‘97 as revival of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series. The first season ended with the team thwarting Bastion’s plans but at the cost of some members being displaced throughout time and space. Meanwhile, the series also set up the next big bag for the series, Apocalypse who will bring a certain raging cajun on his side.  Here are details, and the description for the trailer of X-Men ’97 Season 2.

X-Men ‘97 Season 2 is set for a Summer 2026 release, while this is two years after the first season, the show will be an annual release from this point onwards with the third season set for sometime in 2027. 

Original crew members of the X-Men: The Animated Series were also announced to return as executive producers. This includes writers Eric and Julia Lewald as well as director Larry Houston. Eric and Julia joined the stage to reveal new footage from the upcoming season, ScreenRant was in attendance and gave the following description:

Previously on, old Apocalypse footage. Apocalypse is back. X-Men scattered across the past and future. Gotta get the X-Men back to the 90s, said by bishop. Jean and Scott’s son all grown up as a teenager.

X-Men ‘97 stars Ray Chase as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Ororo Munroe / Storm and more. The second season premieres in Summer 2026.
