Marvel’s Wonder Man is an upcoming Marvel Television project created by Shang-Chi and Spider-Man: Brand New Day Director Destin Daniel Cretton. The series follows Simon Williams’ (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) journey to starring in the key role of Wonder Man. Read the official synopsis below:

Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man.” These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.

Cretton signed with Marvel Studios to develop a comedy series for Disney+ in December 2021, Six months later in June 2022, trades would reveal that this series was based on the character Wonder Man. Filming was done for Wonder Man between April to May 2023 and January to April 2024 with a first look shown in a 2025 Marvel Slate Preview for Disney+ in October 2024. The official trailer was then shown off at New York Comic Con in October 2025, with the trailer being uploaded online immediately after.

On November 5th, 2025, Marvel released what many thought to be the first clip for Wonder Man. However the video served more as a new trailer for the series. Today we’ll be discussing what happens in the trailer, which you can view below:

The trailer which lasts for 53 Seconds opens with a shot of the Hollywood Sign, a news anchor opens “The entertainment world is stunned today, after filmmaker Von Kovak sprung out of retirement today to sign on for a remake of Wonder Man”. During this dialogue, we see someone spinning a sign which reads “Hollywood Tour of Fame,” followed by a line of people preparing to audition for something, likely the Wonder Man remake. We focus on some Wonder Man merch and continue with Von Kovak’s interview where he states that “There is an opportunity to reimagine a whole genre of storytelling”.

The interview is paused, and Simon tells his agent “I need to be in this movie”, she looks at him and laughs. “This January” appears on screen, Simon says “I was born to play this character” and we see a younger Simon watching the original Wonder Man in theatres. Trevor casts some doubts “C’mon, Simon. Do you know how many people went out for those roles?” We see Trevor tapping the table and the words “Lights, Camera, Action” appear, a montage of Simon knocking over a ring light, Trevor hitting the record on a smartphone, someone snapping the clapboard for “Cash Grab 2” and Simon walking around the studio appears as he says “This role… This movie… Everything.”

Simon opens his eyes, they appear to be purple, and we cut back to the diner conversation where Simon continue,s “If I get this close… and I miss?” While Simon is stressed out, Trevor with a confused look on his face notices Simon’s glass begins to vibrate. The final scene shows Simon appearing for his audition, the check-in clerk says “I’m gonna need you to sign this… to confirm you don’t have superpowers.” Simon looks directly at the clerk and responds with, “Yeah.”
