Who Should Be Cast In The Next Jordan Peele Film? Our Six Picks
Horror director Jordan Peele has been 3 for 3 with films thus far. Check out our picks for who should be cast in the next Jordan Peele film.
Comedian-turned-director Jordan Peele has been 3 for 3 with his horror films recently, with the latest one, Nope, releasing in 2022. Check out our picks for who should be cast in Jordan Peele’s next film, which releases in theatres on October 23rd, 2026.
Peele first started his horror run with Get Out, starring Daniel Kaluuya, in 2017, followed by Us, starring Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke, and then followed by Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya again, this time with Steven Yeun, Keke Palmer and Brandon Perea as well. With his next film set for an October 2026 release date, we can expect production to begin soon next year, maybe in the second quarter of the year, since Peele likes to shoot early and have plenty of time for post-production work.
Additionally, this means that casting updates on the film are imminent, even if we don’t know what the film will be about. Recently, Jordan refused to give out details on the film while on The Tonight Show, saying: “I’m going to keep everybody in a painful suspense.”
(The following list is in no particular order.)
6 Picks For The Cast Of Jordan Peele’s Next Film
6. & 5. Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun
Surely this is no surprise to anyone that the two big actors Jordan Peele has recently worked with, Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun, could return for his next film. This one feels more likely than the rest not only because the two had great on-screen presence together in Nope, but because reliable insider Daniel Richtman reported it on his patreon over 2 months ago, mentioning both actors are in talks to star in Jordan Peele’s next film.
Even though I think the idea of Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun returning for Jordan Peele’s next film is great, it’s difficult to think of how it would be received on the internet. Will people be happy that they are returning for Peele’s next film? Or will everyone be disappointed by the fact that Peele decided to reuse two of his older actors instead of bringing someone new? It’s also not far-fetched to think of Daniel Kaluuya as his favourite actor, or basically his muse. So regardless, the idea of seeing both actors reunite for Jordan Peele’s next film would be very exciting!
4. Ayo Edebiri
Slowly rising to the big leagues whilst being beloved by many, it’s no wonder that Ayo Edebiri getting cast in Jordan Peele’s next film would be a pleasant announcement. Ayo has starred in The Bear, Bottoms, Inside Out 2, and more. If anything, she’s one of the best parts of The Bear, as she plays the young and ambitious Sydney Adamu. Her role as Josie in Bottoms is also downright hilarious, so I think her acting performances are pretty great, ranging from drama and comedy.
Maybe Ayo could nail the horror girl aspect next, she’s for sure talented and I see Jordan Peele having her on his radar. She has also recently appeared in Tyler, the Creator’s music video for his first single, Noid, on his newest album Chromakopia.
3. Naomi Scott
This casting pick may seem out of nowhere to a lot of people, but I think it’s one of the most underrated and brilliant ones. Naomi Scott is quite an underappreciated actress, she’s known for playing Princess Jasmine in the live-action Aladdin film in 2019, and most recently she played troubled pop singer Skye Riley in Parker Finn’s Smile 2, with audiences being surprised by her acting performance in the film, calling it the “performance of her life.”
Ideally Jordan Peele casting her in his next film could give us one of her best acting performances to date, considering how good Jordan Peele is at getting spectacular performances.
2. David Jonsson
Possibly another dark horse casting, which I haven’t personally seen many want for Jordan Peele’s next film, but honestly? David Jonsson could absolutely kill it. Jonsson has starred in the first two seasons of Industry, Rye Lane and Alien: Romulus.
Many speculate that Jonsson could be one of Hollywood’s future big stars as he already has plenty of upcoming projects, including a film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk directed by Francis Lawrence, a TV series he’s writing and producing, a sequel to Alien: Romulus, and co-starring alongside Sydney Sweeney in Scandalous which is directed by Colman Domingo.
Obviously this guy would be a perfect casting choice for Jordan Peele’s next film, as he has already proven himself to be very talented. I’m positive that he would do great in another horror role, as I could even see him being as strong as Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out.
1. Taylor Russell
Winner of the Marcello Mastroianni award for Best Young Actress in 2022 for her striking performance as Maren in Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All, Taylor Russell is without question one of cinema’s unique future acting talents. She’s also been a very popular fashion icon since 2022 considering how the internet talks about her obsessively (in a good way of course).
Bearing in mind that she has already tackled horror in Bones and All, which was kind of a poetic horror, it would be much more fun seeing her take a psychological horror-esque role with Jordan Peele’s next film, which feels perfect enough. Fans would certainly love the casting choice of her being in Jordan Peele’s next film as well, since she’s also a rising star.
After our little discussion about who should be cast in Jordan Peele’s next film, it’s beyond doubt that most film lovers are eager to hear about the casting announcements for the film. For now we don’t know when the film’s production is set to begin, but it’s definitely next year, I predict that we’ll get our casting announcements somewhere around February-March too.
2026 will be a good year for film since it seems like many filmmakers will be returning to direct projects that year, including Jordan Peele, Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg, and more.
