‘The X-Files’ Reboot Casts Himesh Patel In Ryan Coogler Series
Himesh Patel has joined Danielle Deadwyler in the want to believe for the ‘X-Files’ reboot at Hulu.
The two leads for the upcoming reboot of The X-Files have been finalised, with Himesh Patel joining Danielle Deadwyler as an FBI agent investigating out-of-this-world mysteries. The news comes after Danielle Deadwyler officially came on to join the series last month.
The news was broken by trades, who revealed that Himesh Patel has joined the cast of Ryan Coogler’s pilot for The X-Files, which Jennifer Yale is showrunning. It is still awaiting the full series greenlight. Read the synopsis below:
Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.

Patel and Deadwyler have worked together before, on the HBO Max series Station Eleven, back in 2021, and now 5 years later, they are set to reunite. Patel is best known for his roles in Yesterday, Tenet, and The Franchise. He will next appear in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
In addition to this news, Variety has also revealed that Yale and Coogler do not plan to recast the lead roles from the original series, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, which were originated by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, respectively. This, coupled with the fact that Gillian Anderson has previously commented on returning as Scully in the new series, stating “There may be a certain point where I end up, maybe in a few years or something, if Ryan Coogler does get it off the ground, that I would dip into Scully again under his tutelage,” she may be indeed returning as the talented FBI agent.

The X-Files stars Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel. The series is being developed with a pilot order at Hulu.
