‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Gets New Clip At The Game Awards
The Game Awards have just unveiled a new clip for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Following the release and smash hit of The Super Mario Bros. Movie back in early 2023, it was only obvious that the film would quickly receive a sequel. Now, three years later, a sequel is finally here. The first trailer for the film dropped a few months ago, and since then more footage has aired as part of a typical marketing campaign, including a Nintendo Direct for the film, which announced the involvement of Benny Safdie and Brie Larson in the film.
Now, a new clip has been showcased as part of The Game Award celebrations, in conjunction with the upcoming release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Watch the new clip below:
The clip sees Benny Safdie’s Bowser Jr. fight Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day). It is a short clip, but gives a sense of the tone of the film, which will be very similar to that of the first film.
Also starring in the film are Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Rosalina. At this point, the cast has not entirely been fleshed out so it’s possible Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen and Eric Bauza return as Donkey Kong, Cranky Kong, and Diddy Kong.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to hit theatres on April 3rd, 2026, courtesy of Illumination, Universal Pictures, and Nintendo.
