‘The Sheep Detectives’ Trailer Has The Herd Solve A Murder
The first trailer for The Sheep Detectives has a flock of sheep try and solve the murder of Hugh Jackman’s shepherd.
It’s been an interesting year for Craig Mazin. He started it off with The Last of Us Season 2 which was poorly received by audiences, despite the praise the first season earned, and the season recently blanked at the Golden Globes but now his next project, a film about talking sheep who team up to solve a murder just received its first trailer. Watch the first The Sheep Detectives trailer below:

As you can see in the trailer, The Sheep Detectives follows a shepherd (Hugh Jackman) who reads stories to his flock of sheep. When the shepherd dies, the sheep team up to find who killed him because the police (Nicholas Braun) cannot.
The film also stars Bryan Cranston, Emma Thompson, Regina Hall, Bella Ramsey (in a Craig Mazin reunion), Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris O’Dowd, Patrick Stewart, Hong Chau, Rhys Darby, and Brett Goldstein.

The movie is directed by Kyle Balda, who is best known for directing Minions: The Rise of Gru, which grossed an impressive near-billion back in 2022. Craig Mazin writes the script and story, having previously created Chernobyl and The Last of Us for HBO.
The Sheep Detectives is set to be released on Mother’s Day weekend May, 2026 via Amazon MGM Studios.
