The Boys has been building up to its final showdown between the Boys and Homelander since the inception of the show all the way back in 2019. It’s finally going down this season as the show winds down after 7 years with 40 episodes.

Season 4 ended with a bang, seeing Hughie, Kimiko, MM, and Frenchie all get captured while Starlight is able to escape at the last second. Butcher sets on his mission to end Homelander once and for all, doing whatever it takes to do so. The mid-credits also see the return of fan favorite Soldier Boy who will be featured in Season 5.

In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.
