‘The Bear’ Season 4 Writing Credits Revealed
The Bear Season 4 is coming back like clockwork this June. Here are the official writing credits for the season.
Co-showrunner Joanna Calo revealed that The Bear Season 4 will air on June 15th while on the red carpet for Thunderbolts*.
It’s unclear how many episodes the season will officially have, but it will have at least 11, which would be the most in a season for the series thus far. It’s also unclear if the season will be the last. If it is, it’s very likely that information will come sooner rather than later.
In a surprising turn of events, it turns out that there are going to be multiple actors from The Bear who will have a hand in writing the season. Ayo Edebiri & Lionel Boyce, who play Sydney and Marcus, respectively, will write Episode 4. Ebon Moss-Bachrach & Jon Bernthal, who play Richie and Mikey, will write Episode 11. There is a chance that is the season finale, considering that is where the credits end.
| Episode | Written By |
| Season 4 Episode 1 | Christopher Storer |
| Season 4 Episode 2 | Catherine Schetina |
| Season 4 Episode 3 | Rene Gube |
| Season 4 Episode 4 | Ayo Edebiri & Lionel Boyce |
| Season 4 Episode 5 | Karen Joseph Adcock |
| Season 4 Episode 6 | Christopher Storer |
| Season 4 Episode 7 | Joanna Calo |
| Season 4 Episode 8 | Joanna Calo & Christopher Storer |
| Season 4 Episode 9 | Luke Davies & Joanna Calo & Christopher Storer |
| Season 4 Episode 10 | Christopher Storer |
| Season 4 Episode 11 | Ebon Moss-Bachrach & Jon Bernthal |
Christopher Storer is the creator and co-showrunner of the series. Storer has previously written 14 of the 28 episodes, including a whopping 7 in Season 3. Here he is set to write 5 of the 11 episodes.
Joanna Calo is the other co-showrunner. She has written 6 episodes from Seasons 1 to 3. In S4, she is credited for at least 3. She was the writer for Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*, and has written for Beef, and Bojack Horseman
The most surprising on the list are the four The Bear cast members. Ayo Edebiri is the least surprising considering she has other writing credits, including Dickinson and What We Do in the Shadows.

Lionel Boyce, who is co-writing with Ayo, created and wrote Loiter Squad, a sketch comedy made by Odd Future, which also starred Tyler, the Creator. With Tyler (real name Tyler Okonma), he also created The Jellies, an adult animated sitcom.
Neither Ebon Moss-Bachrach nor Jon Bernthal has any writing credits as of this time. The two have previously worked together on Netflix’s The Punisher. This might be the potential season or perhaps series finale, which, if true, it is fascinating these two have been given the opportunity to write such a pivotal episode. It’s very possible the episode is a flashback episode, considering Bernthal is writing.
Jon Bernthal does have future writing assignments. Namely, The Punisher special for Disney+ that is coming next year. He is set to write a script for that, which will be directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who he has worked with on King Richard and We Own This City.
There is a good chance that WGA simply hasn’t uploaded all the credits for the season. There were on-set pictures with a clapperboard that depicted that they were filming Episode 16 of Season 4.
We also theorized that the series would have more than 10 episodes back in September due to how they shot Season 3. It is still speculation at this stage if this could be the last, but if the season has more than 16 episodes, there is a good chance that is the case.

The Bear Season 4 stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks, Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero, Abby Elliott as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto, and Matty Matheson as Neil Fak. It is streaming on Hulu on June 15th.
