‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Episode 7 Review

Where we last left off, the crew was left stranded on Lanupa after Jod’s betrayal. They decide to get the ship back and find their way back to At Attin on their own. Meanwhile, Jod is captured by his old crew and sentenced to death but he manages to buy himself some time with the promise of At Attin’s treasure.

It’s another short but very fulfilling episode this time around. We get to witness Jod (Jude Law) at his peak villainy, holding nothing back to get what he wants. Of course, there are still moments where he’s presented as a charming person, but my hopes of him having any form of redemption are fading. The kids alongside SM-33 also had a really funny moment that I’m sure to remember fondly.

I found myself a lot more emotional during this episode. Everything is finally falling into place, and there are some touching moments throughout. Moments that were especially visually satisfying gave me a sense of joy while watching. Whether it’s the ships, machinery, or environment; I couldn’t help but be blown away at how beautiful the episode was.

If I had to complain, there was one moment set up in episode 5, regarding Jod, that was finally followed up on; and I found the way they handled it really underwhelming since it happens so quickly with little build up. But overall, the show brings yet another great episode that’s visually stunning, action-packed, and emotional. I can’t wait to see how it all ends with the finale!

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 7 was directed by Lee Isaac Chung and stars Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Kyriana Kratter as KB, and Robert Timothy Smith as Neel. The first seven episodes are streaming now on Disney+. Episode 8 will premiere on January 14th at 6PM PT / 9PM ET.
