‘Solo Leveling’ Live-Action In Development at Netflix

After debuting in early 2024, Solo Leveling has quickly become one of the best anime in the world, outranking even One Piece on streaming platform Crunchyroll.

Solo Leveling follows the infamous E-Rank Hunter Sung Jinwoo who’s given a second chance at life when he meets the entity known as the System after a fatal death. The system prompts him to carry out numerous tasks or face an even worse demise. Watch the trailer for the show below:

The first season of Solo Leveling aired from January 7th to March 31st, 2024 with a compilation film of the first season titled Solo Leveling: Reawakening also premiering in theatres on November 29th, 2024. A second season, Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow aired from January 5th to March 30th, 2025.

Netflix has announced that they will handle the live-action adaptation of the hit series, Byeon Woo-seok (20th Century Girl, Lovely Runner) will star as the protagonist Sung Jinwoo. With Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo (Ashfall, Like a Virgin, Castaway on the Moon, My Dictator and Cold Eyes) set to co-direct the series. Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES are set to produce.

Solo Leveling is created by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo. The series is coming soon to Netflix.
