Rising Pop Girls of 2025: Predictions For The Next Big Artist

2024 saw the rise of Charli XCX, Chappel Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter. But who is going to take on the mantle of Next Big Artist this year?

Rising Pop Girls of 2025: Predictions For The Next Big Artist

In recent years, it has felt like women are doing the heavy lifting when it comes to pop music. This is especially clear when you look at the Best Pop Vocal Album nominees at the Grammys this year. I wanted to give some predictions about who I think could be the next big artist in 2025. This is for the girlies who love to say, “I was a fan before she was big.”

Griff

Griff is the entire package. She is a producer and songwriter powerhouse who seems to have the entire industry behind her. From personal shoutouts from Taylor Swift to opening for Sabrina Carpenter, it looks like it is only a matter of time for Griff. It’s not just that she has all this support, but the discography merits the praise. With songs like ‘Tears For Fun,’ ‘last night’s mascara,’ and ‘Miss Me Too,’ you can hear the infectious beat and complex lyricism that will reel any pop fan in.

Tate McRae

Tate McRae had a great 2024, but she is going to take over in 2025. She has differentiated herself with her impressive dance moves, but it feels like the music is finally catching up with that talent. Her sophomore album, ‘THINK LATER,’ had some promising singles but fell flat for me as a whole. However, her next album feels different. The two singles to come out, ‘2 hands’ and ‘It’s ok I’m ok,’ already feel like a step up. With her stunning visuals, demanding stage presence, and it-girl charm, it is highly likely that this will be her year.

Rachel Chinouriri

Rachel Chinouriri is a dual coin, bringing cheekiness and heartbreak to the pop world. With her opening for Sabrina Carpenter on her European leg of the Short n’ Sweet tour this year, it is inevitable that pop listeners will finally start paying attention to Chinouriri. With the release of her debut album, ‘What A Devastating Turn of Events,’ we get a personal account of the highs and lows of what it is like to be in your twenties. I also find her music extremely immersive, and she builds a world so distinct, like it’s her own. With relatable lyrics and a unique sound that sets her apart, one can only hope she rises in 2025.

JADE

The Little Mix alum might have the edge over the rest of the women on this list because of her previous fame, but I would be remiss to leave her off. With her 2024 singles, ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ and ‘Midnight Cowboy,’ JADE has proven she is not here to play. With a deep knowledge of pop history and the confidence to be fearlessly individual, JADE is making iconic pop tracks that demand your attention. With a full album release, I could see JADE filling in the bad-bitch-pop-girl hole that we have been waiting to be filled.

flowerovlove

This London native blends youthful lyrics with bubbly production in such a compelling way. With the release of her third EP, ‘ache in my tooth,’ it feels like flowerovlove has finally come into her own. It is only a matter of time until she breaks into the mainstream. Or, at the very least, build a more significant fan base in 2025. She is already teasing new music for the start of this year, and I can definitely see a surge in her popularity with a full album release.

Cece Natalie

With only thirty-thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, it is clear that Cece Natalie is an underrated gem. With unhinged lyrics and beats that sound like they were made on GarageBand, there is a distinct charm to Natalie–akin to Kesha or early Charli XCX. There is a homemade feel to all of her music, but it doesn’t even matter. This woman knows how to write a hook. Natalie is for the messy it-girls whose most used word of 2024 is Brat. Cece Natalie released her debut album in 2024 called ‘Miss Behaves,’ and I could see her gaining a cult following in 2025, which could hopefully lead to a broader reach. I leave you with the plea to listen to the genius pop anthem that is ‘Ambulance.’

These women are paving a path to success with their individuality. Even if they do not reach the same height as the women I mentioned at the beginning, one can see that they have consistently grown their fan bases authentically. You can listen to their music on all streaming platforms, and I encourage you to hop on the bandwagon before it’s too late.
