‘Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu’ Teaser Trailer: A Chaotic Duo
The Pokémon Company teams up with Aardman Animation Studio for a new stop-motion series featuring Sirfetch’d and Pichu.
During the July Pokémon Presents, Peter Lord from the Aardman Animation Studio appeared to announce a new stop-motion series in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. The series plans to make Pokémon the main focus with their perspective, the game is set in the Galar region which as Lord describes “very close to our hearts,” given that Aardman Animation Studio is located in England. The upcoming series is called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, set for release in 2027. A teaser trailer was shown, which you can view below:
What Happens in the Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu Trailer?
The teaser opens with Wooloo in a grass field in front of a stone wall. A Pokémon cries off-screen and we see Sirfetch’d and Pichu rush towards them, Pichu appears to use an Electric-type move. Something else occurs on the other side of the screen and the two rush over again, a Ground-type move is used this time and Sirfetch’d becomes covered in mud. Yet again, some commotion occurs, and we see a Fire-type move used. Wooloo gets a roasted apple to eat. Pichu and a tired Sirfetch’d (it seems as though Sirfetch’d is committed to protecting Pichu from harm) then walk off-screen in front of Wooloo. Wooloo blinks and proceeds to eat the apple. The trailer ends with the first logo for the series which showcases Sirfetch’d’s shield. The text is very medieval, with the exception of the word Pichu, which is depicted in a more carefree font.

Sirfetch’d and Pichu are front and centre as the heroes of the show, which is set in a region Trainers have explored before—one that is very close to Aardman’s heart. The series will offer a unique look at the Pokémon world, told from the perspective of Pokémon, with the signature Aardman sense of character, comedy and craft.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is developed by Aardman Animation Studio in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. The series premieres in 2027.
