'Peacemaker' Season 2, Episode 5 Ending Explained

That Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 ending was a doozy, here is everything you may or may not have missed.

We’re now in our fifth week of Peacemaker Season 2. This episode saw the long awaited face to face between Christopher Smith (John Cena) and Rick Flag Sr (Frank Grillo) which could’ve gone terribly had John Economos (Steve Agee) not stepped in.

The second season of Peacemaker follows the 11th Street Kids (Cena, Holland, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma) navigating life after saving the world from Project Butterfly, with their newfound sense of heroics they hope to help the world any way they can. Christopher Smith in particular hopes to join a team of heroes but is quickly rejected, down on his luck he hits the jackpot when he comes across a parallel dimension of his dreams.

Read the official synopsis below:

In season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.

Spoilers for Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5 ahead!!

After being rejected by Emilia Harcourt, Chris has decided to permanently move to the parallel Earth with Eagly in hopes to spend more time with Keith and their father. Chris also hopes to explore a relationship with parallel Earth’s Emilia Harcourt. His move went off mostly without any problems except for Judomaster, who followed Chris at the last minute and is now somewhere in the Quantum Unfolding Chamber.

With the exception of Judomaster, ARGUS failed to get their hands on Peacemaker and the dimensional portal and now they must figure out what to do next. Meanwhile, after reading Chris’ goodbye letter, Emilia, Leota, John and especially Adrian are all crushed but they’re determined to bring Chris back home at any cost. There’s one problem though: the 11th Street Kids don’t know the exact pattern to this parallel Earth and with 99 confirmed dimensions who knows where they will end up when trying to figure out the correct pattern.

Meanwhile, ARGUS may end up scrambling for a way to get their hands on their own dimensional portal and luckily for them, Belle Reeve recently got a group of scientists who may have been involved with dimensional portals months prior who could be their answer.

Regardless, the final three episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 have been hyped up by James Gunn himself and the cast as being very important for the future of the DCU and the series is said to lead directly into the recently announced Superman pseudo-sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

From all the trailers and behind-the-scenes footage we have, we know that both ARGUS and the 11th Street Kids will reach the Quantum Unfolding Chamber and how they manage that is yet to be seen. We also know that Adrian Chase will finally suit up as Vigilante so there’s bound to be lots of action ahead.
