NYC ‘Supergirl’ Event Reveals First Look, Announces First Trailer Date
Supergirl just released its first look ahead of its first trailer later this week.
After attending CCXP this past weekend, a Supergirl event was held in New York City where it was revealed that the first trailer for Supergirl will be released later this week. The first look showcases Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El / Supergirl sitting with her hair flying in her face due to an unseen wind-generating force. Another shot showcases a ship descending onto the same desert area as the first scene before the phrase “the wait is almost over” plays over the screen. Watch it below:

Attending the event were DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, director Craig Gillespie, and star Milly Alcock. Press members were invited to watch the event, where the trailer was shown exclusively to these members for reactions and early coverage.
Supergirl is adapting Tom King’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, which the film originally derived its name from. The film will be directed by Craig Gillespie, who has previously worked on films such as I, Tonya, Cruella, The Finest Hours, and Dumb Money.
The film recently attended CCXP Brazil, where it had a booth showcasing some artifacts from the film and more. It’s one of the first steps in the marketing of the film, which seems to be an interesting road with the lead villain of the film, Matthias Schoenaerts, having landed in prison this week after being caught under the influence without a license.
A logo was also revealed, utilizing the symbol of the House of El, but with a new font for the Supergirl title in comparison to the Superman one.

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, Eve Ridley as Rutheye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll. It will mark the second released DC Studios film, following James Gunn’s Superman, in which Alcock cameoed.
