New ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 Trailer Playing In Front Of ‘Superman’
The release of Superman sees the release of a new trailer for the next DCU project, Peacemaker Season 2.
It’s been a while since the last bit of Peacemaker Season 2 footage has been released, even longer since the official trailer was released. But now that Superman has finally been released, marketing will soon ramp up for the next project in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU Chapter One, and what better way than to release a new trailer with Superman itself!
We at Feature First can exclusively report that a new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 is now playing in front of select screenings of Superman. I particularly managed to catch the trailer on my second viewing of Superman, in Australia. It features a variety of new footage.
Amongst this new footage, we see John Cena’s Christopher Smith, our titular Peacemaker, riding a motorised tricycle through the streets of the town where the season takes place. Stay tuned for a full trailer breakdown once we obtain better footage or a description.
Peacemaker Season 2 will see the return of John Cena as Peacemaker as he faces a new threat, as well as a new canon, following the end of the DC Extended Universe and the start of DCU Chapter One: Gods & Monsters. The show will see the return of Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr, reprising his role from HBO Max’s Creature Commandos and the Superman movie, who has a bone to pick with Smith, following the death of his son, Flag Jr (Joel Kinnaman), in Corto Maltese.
The move is a unique one, with television trailers rarely, if ever, making appearances in theatres. It marks a new strategy for DC Studios as they prepare to release their first live-action series, ahead of their 10-year+ spanning slate, which also includes the likes of Booster Gold, Wonder Woman, The Brave and the Bold, Blue Beetle, and Swamp Thing.
Peacemaker stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, and many more. Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Superman is now playing in theatres worldwide, whilst Peacemaker Season 2 will hit HBO Max on August 21, 2025. Watch the first season of the show below:
