‘Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’: What We Know So Far
Here’s what we know about the upcoming 2D fighter from Arc Systems Works in collaboration with Marvel Games as of September 2025.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 2D 4v4 tag-fighter coming from Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball Fighter Z developers, Arc Systems Works. The game was announced on June 4th, 2025 during Sony’s State of Play presentation. The reveal trailer showcased some of the locations we’d find ourselves in as well as a current roster of eight heroes/villains each with unique designs. You can view the reveal trailer below:
Who’s in the ‘Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ Roster?
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls currently consists of eight playable characters, all of which were showcased in the reveal trailer alongside their ultimate moves. In the dedicated trailer from the PlaySation channel, the japanese voice was revealed which you can see below.

During a Closed Beta Test held between September 5th and September 7th, 2025 participants were able to play Captain America, Iron Man, Star Lord, Storm, Ms. Marvel and Doctor Doom. Meanwhile at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 between September 25th and September 28th, 2025, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider became playable in demo for attendees. More characters and other content such as maps will be revealed later on.
‘Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ Beginner’s Guide
During the leadup to EVO, a beginner’s guide for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls where game director Kazuto “Pachi” Sekine gave a rundown on the game’s rules, button layout, attacks and the Assemble mechanic which involves summoning your allies to help deal damage to the opponent, swap to them and more.
