‘Marvel Rivals’ Battle Matrix Protocol & New Skins
From June 6th, you can run various simulations using the heroes and villains from Marvel Rivals in the Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol event.
NetEase has released the trailer for the Marvel Rivals limited-time game mode, “Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol”, which functions similar to auto chess. In this mode, the player (as an Ultron bot) must command a team using 6 of the game’s 39 available characters to fight off waves of enemies.
Between rounds, players can adjust the positions of heroes in a 4×6 grid, they can also purchase Modules which increase the stats of each role and increase the abilities of specific heroes. The six heroes you choose at the start of the game aren’t the only ones you’ll be able to use as there are reserve heroes which can be swapped in between rounds.
The game mode can be accessed on the “Play” menu and runs from June 6th at 1AM PT / 4AM ET to June 23rd at 1AM PT / 4AM ET.

Battle Matrix Protocol Rewards & How To Earn Them
In Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol, players will be able to earn the Ultron-1 spray and two Ultron themed Emojis making for a total of three rewards. The Ultron-1 spray can be earned by playing 3 matches and the Acceptance Ultron emoji can be earned by playing 7 more matches (for a total of 10). The other emoji can be earned by reaching 2000 points, points are earned through completing matches.

New Wolverine & Jeff The Land Shark Skins
Additionally, we got our first looks at new skins for Wolverine and Jeff The Land Shark which both release in the shop on June 5th at 7PM PT / 10PM ET – releasing the same time as the Battle Matrix Protocol.
Wolverine will receive the ‘Weapon X’ outfit. Weapon X first originated in “Marvel Comic Presents #72 – #74” which ran from March – September 1991. This story arc describes the moment Logan / Wolverine was captured for the Weapon X program where his memories were wiped and his bones infused with the hardest known substance on Earth, Adamantium to create a mindless, soulless killing machine.
Jeff The Land Shark will receive the ‘Sunshine Land Shark’ outfit which appears to be a Marvel Rivals original skin. We previously caught a glimpse of the outfit in the ‘Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic #7.’
It’s unclear which skin is legendary rarity (2200 Units) and which is epic rarity (1600 Units) but we can safely assume that both skins will also be in a bundle for 2800 Units, so the best value would be to pick them up together.
Marvel Rivals is developed by NetEase and is available for free on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol event runs from June 6th at 1AM PT / 4AM ET to June 23rd at 1AM PT / 4AM ET.
