The Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23 was held on August 9th and revealed details on Marvel’s slate for 2025 starting with Captain America: Brave New World where fans were treated to footage from the film. The description from Den Of Geek reads as follows:

The latest Brave New World trailer expands somewhat on the first teaser unveiled earlier this summer. It opens with Ross addressing a summit meeting in which he notes that the discovery of adamantium in the body of the Celestial left on Earth at the end of Eternals led initially to squabbling among the planet’s nations over obtaining it, until an agreement of some sort was hammered out.

From there, it makes it more explicit that Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito) is behind a massive terrorist-type attack on the White House, but it also becomes apparent that Ross—after initially reaching out to Wilson to reconstitute the Avengers—wants the whole thing buried, even though Wilson has discovered evidence that someone in the president’s inner circle is involved.

From there, the trailer cascades through a series of action sequences in the air and ground, a look at Cap and the new Falcon (Danny Ramirez) working together, secret bases and labs, and lots of explosions and flames, culminating in the Red Hulk sequence.

at the end of the clip, as he is speaking to a gathering of some kind outside the White House. Ross is overcome with a seizure and emerges from behind the official presidential lectern in full Red Hulk glory (it appears that it’s Ford himself doing the performance capture, because it’s clearly his face in there).

He rises to his full stature and unleashes a tremendous roar before the title of the film flashes onscreen, followed by one more close-up of his face, eyes blazing with fury, as he turns and no doubt heads into conflict with Captain America/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who is at the event.

During the Music of Marvel Studios panel on August 9th, it was also revealed that Laura Karpman would score the upcoming film. Her previous work includes What If…? and The Marvels.

Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres / Falcon, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross / Red Hulk, and Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder. The film hits theatres on February 14th, 2025.

First Look at Johnny Storm’s Outfit in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

The Fantastic Four: First Steps kept the momentum going with a video message from the cast who are currently filming in the United Kingdom. In the video we get our first look at Johnny Storm’s (Joseph Quinn) costume from the film which indicates that each character’s costume may have slight variations from one another. You can view the video here:

Fans were also treated to Michael Giacchino’s retro-futuristic score for the film which can be listened to here:

The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch, and Ebon-Moss Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing. The film hits theatres on July 25th, 2025.

‘Ironheart’ Showcases New Footage

Up next was Ironheart which had cast members Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, and Regan Aliyah alongside executive producer Ryan Coogler coming to the stage. Fans were treated to new footage from the series, the description from SlashFilm reads as follows:

The footage kicks off with Riri Williams in her bedroom and we can see that she’s testing a microphone on her necklace. She’s in a MIT class with Jim Rash, indicating that she is not just your average smart girl. She’s a straight-up genius. An experiment sparks, and she’s talking about putting things back together after taking them apart, which she describes as the best way to figure things out. Some very strong Tony Stark vibes in that regard.

Anthony Ramos’ character is discussing doing questionable things to get stuff done, and that makes sense as Ramos is the villain of the piece. We get confirmation that Ramos is playing Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, who is a villain from the pages of Marvel Comics. We get a shot of him putting on the hood, as well as some shots of fights in a lab, as well as an Iron Man-esque suit. Again, this sounds very comics-faithful. There are lots of other quick shots but that is pretty much it for the footage! Kevin Feige was on stage, describe Parker as a dark and complex guy, and also saying that he’s excited to see the match up of magic vs. technology.

One of the suits were also revealed at the start of the segment which can be viewed here:

To those following set photos, this suit isn’t new. Outlet Just Jared had previously shared an image of it back in August 2022

Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams / Ironheart, Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins / The Hood, Harper Anthony, Manny Montana, and Alden Ehrenreich. The series premieres on Disney+ in 2025.

Train subway, Murdock, people going missing, Kingpin art, White Tiger, people need a hero. “New York is what it’s always been.” Out for blood. Fisk on rooftop. Frank and Matt face to face. Multiple Daredevil helmets, Fisk says, “Peace needs to be broken, Chaos must reign.” Matt and Fisk at a diner. “If you step out of line, I am going to be there.” “Who’s this coming from, Murdock…or you darker half?” Kamala’s dad protected by Matt. “What kind of lawyer are you?” he asks, and Matt says, “A really good one.”

On August 10, the Marvel Animation panel at D23 was live showcasing new details on footage on all upcoming animated projects. Beginning with What If…? Season 3, which was announced to be the final season of the series. Footage from one of the episodes titled “Heroes of the Gamma War” was shown, a description was provided by GeekTyrant:

The footage starts with a retro old-school Avengers video featuring the Avengers and building up a story that leads to Hulk unleashing giant Kaju-like monsters on Earth.

The footage then cuts to the modern day Avengers in their Mech suits battling the giant monsters. As they do so, they combine to form a giant mech robot to take the creatures down.

Just imagine any Voltron action sequence where the team is fighting a villain and have to combine to finish the villain off once and for all. That’s what this footage was, and it was fun!

Additionally, it was revealed that more characters from Phase 4 will be joining the series. They include Moon Knight, Ironheart, White Vision, and Shang-Chi.

What If…? Season 3 stars Jeffrey Wright as Uatu The Watcher and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter / Captain Carter. The new season is coming soon to Disney+.

More Details on ‘Marvel Zombies’ Revealed

The four episode TV-MA series saw new footage being revealed highlighting characters from Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. Collider described the footage as follows:

One impressive scene shows Shang-Chi getting bitten, and his father, Wenwu, sacrificing himself by giving Shang-Chi the Ten Rings to save him. Katy also uses the Ten Rings to fight off the zombies, showing just how dire the situation has become. The story dives deep into the characters’ struggles and the tough decisions they have to make. The footage then jumps ahead five years to a world completely overrun by zombies. In one scene, Katy and Shang-Chi are seen escaping from a gang of Skrull bikers in a high-speed car chase. The action is non-stop, with Shang-Chi using the Ten Rings to fend off their attackers. Even in the middle of all this chaos, the characters manage to keep some humor alive, singing along to Journey’s “Lights” as they race for their lives.

Marvel Zombies is coming soon to Disney+.

Finally, to end off the panel fans were shown new footage from Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Casting was also announced as Hudson Thames would reprise his role as Peter Parker alongside Colman Domingo who voices Norman Osborn, a key character in this new take on Spider-Man’s origin story. The footage was detailed by ScreenRant as follows:

The footage begins with Peter Parker at Midtown High on the first day of school. A big portal with a monster opens out of thin air. Peter is saved by Doctor Strange. A spider drops from the portal after Strange takes the monster back through it. The spider bites Peter right as he meets Nico Minoru. The theme that is playing is a remix rap using samples from classic Spider-Man themes. A few months later, Peter dons a low tech suit and fights two criminals using tech. Norman Osborn is Peter’s man in the chair. One bad guy is a speedster, with his powers coming from technological boots. Another villain has two gauntlets with energy blades. Spider-Man trips the speedster, who knocks into the other thug.

A potential release date was also discovered via a post from Nic Gregory, an artist on the upcoming series which points to a premiere in November. However, Marvel Animation has not officially confirmed this release window.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man stars Hudson Thames as Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Colman Domingo as Norman Osbord / Green Goblin. The series will premiere on Disney+ in November 2024.
